IUI (intrauterine insemination) places prepared sperm directly into your womb around the time you release an egg. It's simpler and less costly than IVF, and it can use your partner's sperm or a donor's. It's often paired with gentle medication to help your body release an egg.
IUI might be right for you if you're a solo parent by choice or in a same-sex couple using donor sperm, if you have mild male-factor issues or irregular ovulation, if you have unexplained fertility issues, or if you'd like to try a less intensive treatment before IVF.
For a lot of families, IUI is the step that makes clinical and financial sense. We'll never push you towards more intensive treatment than your situation calls for. If IVF would give you a materially better chance, we'll tell you plainly, share the numbers, and let you decide.
We'll also tell you when to stop. Some clinics will keep cycling patients long after it makes sense. We won't.
IUI is one of our lower-cost treatments. The total depends on whether you use partner or donor sperm, and whether you need medication to release an egg. You'll know the full cost before you start, and we'll tell you clearly if we don't think a second or third cycle is worth it.
